I really hope that people don't judge me by what I post. I just want them to realize reality. The most dramatic things you see on soap operas. They really happen. You may not think that your child will be part of this kind of drama. Oh, how wrong you are. How wrong you are.
Your child, or maybe your best friend (if you are teen), can take part in bad choices. They might not be the culprit, they may just be the victim of someone elses stupidity. It doesn't matter. They need to make sure that they are popular. That everyone likes them. So they wont fall down with out friends.
This is where good parenting comes in. Talk to your child. Beleive it or not, every child wants boundaries. When they push you so hard, you just give up....sure they enjoy it for a while. Maybe half their life. But later on in life, they wish that they had parents, worthy of being called parents. Tell them that you set boundaries because you love them. Compromise. Make sure you know where they are at all times.
Example: Your daughter is stuck inside doing nothing. Maybe watching a little tube. Then she goes to bed. Or at least you think. She is really out with her friends going to catch a chick flick. She didn't tell you....Ground her.
No, don't ground her. Sit down with her and tell her that you were worried about her. Tell her that if she does it again, you will ground her. She needs to at least leave a number.
You need to be a good parent. Sacrifice everything bad. Drug addictions, alcohol, everything dark. Because inside, you really truly don't want your child to grow up to be like you.
Change the world. Be a good parent.
